Suryakumar Yadav Biography
Suryakumar Yadav debuted during the 2010-11 Ranji season. He enjoyed a dream start, courtesy a top-score for Mumbai. Suryakumar Yadav smashed 73 runs and was the sole half centurion in the Mumbai innings.
As a result of his impressive performances, he has found a permanent slot in the side. Suryakumar Yadav repaid the faith by scoring decently in every season.
His performance gained him plenty of admirers, especially the ones who matter. Those admirers were, the Mumbai Indians, who gifted him an IPL contract in 2011.
He stayed with the side for a handful of IPL matches until 2013. A year later, in search of more game time, he tried his luck with the Kolkata Knight Riders. The plan worked and Suryakumar Yadav thrived lower down the order. His strike rate ensured that he cemented his place in the side for IPL 7.
Suryakumar Yadav possesses a knack for innovation on the batting front. He was part of the Knight Riders’ title-winning squad in 2014 and played a big role on occasion. Sadly for him, after that season, the opportunities began to dry up. So, once again, he went shopping for another IPL team, where he reunited with the Mumbai Indians.
In IPL 2018, Suryakumar Yadav showed what teams were missing out on when he finished as the highest run-getter for Mumbai. He boasts of an impressive tally of 512 runs at an average of 36.57 and a strike rate of 133.33. His consistency with the bat was one of the highlights of an otherwise disappointing campaign for the franchise.
IPL 2019 Expectations
Now, in IPL 2019, he is back with MI and will be eager to prove himself. His highest score was 72 runs, achieved in the 2018 edition of the T20 league.
