Tyler Herro is a 6’5” shooting guard who plays for Miami Heat in the NBA. Herro was born on January 20, 2000, to Jennifer and Christopher Herro. The Milwaukee native was selected by the Heat with the 13th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Herro graduated from Whitnall High School in Greenfield county. He earned massive recognition as a senior and averaged 32.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists. The youngster received massive college offers owing to his high-school heroics, and he initially opted to play for the University of Wisconsin.
However, a personal visit from Kentucky’s coach John Calipari proved to be the game-changer as Herro switched his mind. He committed to the Wildcats and signed a letter of intent to play with them.
Calipari made Herro his #1 shooting guard, and he started every game he played as a Wildcat. He averaged 14.0 points and 4.5 rebounds as a freshman and was named Southeastern Conference Rookie of the Year by Associated Press.
Herro is open about his private life and he’s currently dating model Katya Elise Henry.
Herro chose to forego three years of college to enter the NBA in 2019. He went as the 13th overall pick in the draft as the Heat gave him a chance to evolve in the league. The six-foot-five guard displayed effortless shooting techniques to stand out as a special rookie in his draft class.
Herro averaged 13.5 points and 4.1 rebounds during the regular season, and he was named to the All-Rookie Second Team as well. Herro’s performance in the 2020 NBA Playoffs went down as one of the most sensational displays by a rookie in the postseason.
He even broke a couple of rookie records with his bubble performance and garnered everyone’s attention with his shooting accuracy.
