The event will take place on outdoor hard-courts at the UTSA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre. It will be organised by the International Tennis Federation and the matches will occur on a total of 15 courts.
Due to the 2020 Summer Paralympics, no singles, doubles, and quad events for men's and women's wheelchair tennis players are taking place this year.
US Open 2021 defending champions
In the men's category, World No.6 Dominic Thiem will begin as the defending champion. The Austrian won a five-set marathon against Alexander Zverev in the last year's final to clinch his maiden Grand Slam title. Even though he is the defending champion, he will certainly not be the favorite to win the Slam due to his poor form this season.
