He became the NCAA champion on the floor exercise and rings, earning more success. The same year in November, Moldauer competed at the Arthur Gander Memorial. There he emerged as the winner of the four-event all-around competition, triumphing over Nikita Nagornyy in a tie-breaker.

Moldauer continued to make waves in gymnastics. At the 2022 Winter Cup, he secured fourth place in the all-around. He earned individual silver in the all-around while claiming gold on floor exercise, pommel horse, and parallel bars.

In August, he participated in the U.S. National Championships, finishing fifth in the all-around but ranking third on the pommel horse. Lastly, Moldauer was subsequently named the traveling alternate for the World Championships team in October.
