Twitter Erupts as Novak Djokovic Carries Serbia to ATP Cup Victory Against Rafael Nadal’s Spain

With Roberto Bautista Agut giving the first point to Spain, Novak Djokovic balanced the tie scores to 1-1 by knocking out Rafael Nadal. The final match was driven into the deciding rubber and Team Serbia stormed past against Team Spain to lift the ATP Cup 2020.

One of the greatest of all times, World Number two Novak Djokovic carried his nation Serbia to lift the ATP Cup 2020 title. The doubles team of Djokovic and Victor Troicki defeated Feliciano Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3, 6-4 and declared Serbia as the ATP Cup champions.

Team Spain began the match with an advantage, as they led by a break at 2-1. Later consolidated they it to 3-1 in the opening set. With Serbia winning the next five games they sealed the set 6-3.

In the second set, the Serbs led by a break from the beginning. The Spaniards had the chance to retrieve their break in the second set at 3-2. However, a remarkable second serve from Novak on the deciding point gave the Serbs a 4-2 lead. With maintaining their flawless level of tennis, Djokovic served out to love and led his team to become champions.

“I’ll remember this experience for the rest of my life. It’s one of the nicest moments of my career, for sure. I have been very fortunate to have an amazing career but playing for the country with some of my best friends is incomparable. It’s too special,” Djokovic said.

Troicki mentioned it was an incredible experience to share the court with Djokovic. “I want to thank Novak for playing with me. It was a great experience again and to share this moment with him is amazing. I cannot describe it with words. I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. It’s unreal.” Troicki said.
