A few of the tennis players including the likes of Stan Wawrinka, Roger Federer were asked for their bold prediction for 2020, when each of them gave out opinions. In a video obtained from Tennis TV, the players were seen forecasting what 2020 holds for tennis.

While most of them felt the first year of the decade would see new Grand Slam winners, a few felt otherwise. Among those who believed that the Grand Slam would see no new winners, was Swiss tennis player Stan Wawrinka.

He believed Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal would sweep away the Grand Slams in 2020. Nadal came into the year as No. 1 in the World with Djokovic just behind him. The duo started their quest for the first Grand Slam of the year at the Australian Open strongly, winning the first two rounds quite comfortably.

The duo shared the four Grand Slams last year two-a-piece. At 33, Nadal won his fourth US Open title after continuing his dominance on clay winning the French Open for a record 12th time. Djokovic had the other two titles to his name- beating Roger Federer at the Wimbledon Championships and Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open.

The kind of dominance they should not surprise anybody as to why Wawrinka chose the duo to win the Grand Slams again this year. Of course, Federer might still win another Grand Slam at the age of 38 and continue to defy the odds.

However, a few more players are emerging who have an equally good opportunity with the big-three not getting any younger.

Alexander Zverev feels youngsters might shine on hardcourts

Alexander Zverev, among a few others, believed that 2020 is the year for one of the younger players to shine. While saying that, Zverev conceded that Nadal is still too good to be beaten in his territory and players need some experience to win on grass. Hence, a new Grand Slam winner shall arise in one of the hardcourt arenas according to Zverev.
