Meanwhile, Tsitsipas is one among the upcoming generation of tennis players. Aged just 23, the Greek has the experience of competing in a Grand Slam final, which he did at this year’s French Open. With an impressive physique and power-packed game, Tsitsipas ranks among the favorites to win the tournament.

Earlier today, the Briton admitted his first round match against Tsitsipas will help him determine where he stands in the modern game. He said“It’s a good test for me to see where I am.”

Many players on the tour may want to avoid Tsitsipas at the US Open, given his current run of form. However, the Briton’s words could add a different dimension to an untested matchup.
