Hurkacz came into today’s semifinal full of confidence after defeating Roger Federer in a shock upset in the quarterfinals. Although the Polish star started well, Berrettini came back strong to take the first set. While he bagel’d Hurkacz in the second set, the Italian lost the third set before clinching the fourth set and the win. The final score was 6-3, 6-0, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4.

Berrettini, along with his girlfriend Tomljanovic, reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon for the first time in their careers. Although Berrettini made it to the final, Tomljanovic lost her quarterfinal in straight sets to World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty. With both players in the stands for each other’s games, today was no exception with the Australian in Berrettini’s corner during his semifinal.
