After injuring his wrist just before the Wimbledon Championships, Austrian tennis sensation Dominic Thiem has been out of action for most of the season this year. However, there has been a positive development in the case of the former US Open champion.

According to the latest development, Dominic Thiem has confirmed his participation in the Mubadala World Tennis Championships 2021. The tournament takes place in Abu Dhabi and to see the Austrian player make a return to the Tour in this event makes it extra special.

Fans got excited when they heard the news of the Austrian ace making a comeback on the Tour. It would be an ideal event for him to prepare for the Australian Open 2022.

The 13th edition of the event takes place from the 16th of December to the 18th of December. Given its timing, it serves as the ideal step for players to kick-start their preparations for the Happy Slam.

Dominic Thiem set to return in the middle east 

Besides Thiem, the event will feature other prominent players like Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud and Canadian tennis sensation Denis Shapovalov.

The CEO of Flash Entertainment, the company that owns the event, stated, “Everyone knows how good a player Dominic Thiem is, especially our loyal, knowledgeable Championship fans. We are thrilled that he has decided to choose our Championship to make his return to tennis”
