“I cannot choose between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. I can choose moments though. On grass, I would choose Roger and on clay, I would definitely go with Rafa,” said the 33-year-old Indian tennis player.

It’s definitely not easy to pick between the two legends as one supersedes the other on different surfaces. Nadal is undisputedly the ‘King of Clay’ who recently won his 13th French Open title in 2020. Federer, on the other hand, has a great record on grass winning 19 titles there, more than anybody else. The Swiss Maestro also has 8 Wimbledon titles and enjoys a winning percentage of 87.4% on the grass courts.

The Nadal-Federer rivalry, popularly known as the ‘Fedal’ rivalry, has been phenomenal so far. The two players have faced each other on a total of 40 occasions with Rafa leading at 24-16. The Spaniard also leads in the 14 finals they have met with 10-4. However, in their last encounter at the Wimbledon Championships 2019, it was Federer who defeated Rafa in the semi-finals.

The two are surely ambassadors of the sports as they have taken tennis to a whole new level. Fans surely missed their exciting clashes this year as Federer was not able to play for the entire season due to a knee injury. However, they expect that the wait would be over soon as hope to see Nadal facing off Federer once again at the Australian Open 2021.
