French tennis player Kristina Mladenovic lost her second-round match after squandering match points against Russia’s Varvara Gracheva. Later she claimed it to be one of the most painful defeats of her career as she was 6-1, 5-1 up and then the battle went downhill and conceded a 1-6, 7-6(2), 6-0 defeat.

Post her loss, she mentioned it was a nightmare living inside the US Open and claimed the tournament gave an ‘abominable’ treatment.

The players who are done with their US Open journey are not allowed to leave the premises until the next weekend. The tournament believes the players were previously in touch with Benoit Paire (who was tested positive for coronavirus) and they can be the potential carriers of the deadly virus and consequently make the bubble more unsafe.
