Federer, Djokovic and Nadal Come Out in Support of Ongoing #BlackLivesMatter Movement

The Blackout Tuesday campaign from the US has now crossed the borders. The act of sharing black squares on social media is just not confined to the Americans now, rather the entire planet is stepping out in protest of police violence against the black man George Floyd. The liege of tennis Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal have also come in support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement in the US.

The triumphant trio of tennis shared the black squares on their Instagram accounts. It signifies a powerful symbol of solidarity and unity. This raises a rally against the African-American Floyd, who was choked to death by Minneapolis police.

Apparently, late-Floyd forged a $20 bill in a shop in Minneapolis and following that he was arrested by the police. Then, police officer Derek Chauvin choked him by kneeling on his neck.

Tsonga’s racism battles

Earlier, Former World Number five Jo-Wilfried Tsonga revealed tackling racism while growing up. He was considered as white to be an African, and black to be a French.

“I have been regularly confronted with racism very regularly, and since my childhood. However, I have a black father, a white mom, I am black and white. And I was one of the only children of an immigrant father in my elementary school. I let you imagine the rest,” he shared.

Also World Number ten Naomi Osaka also vocalized regarding the violent protests of racism in the US.
