On Wednesday, the Swiss maestro Roger Federer tweeted to merge men and women’s tours. The entire tennis world called him out and supported his notion to unify the tours. However, the Australian tennis Nick Kyrgios seemed unconvinced with the idea.

Probably, he wants to know whether the unification idea if it’s upvoted by the majority of the ATP’s fraternity or not. And the changes that will be implemented on the circuit once the two bodies are joined. “Did anyone ask the majority of the ATP  what they think about merging with the WTA and how it is good for us?” Nick Kyrgios tweeted.

However, when Federer had tweeted earlier on Wednesday, Kyrgios seemed to concede with the merging idea. But a few hours later, the Australian had come up with an interrogation.

If the two tracks run under a single name, the prize money issued to the players on the men and women’s track might become equal. Consequently, the amount of allowance from men’s accounts might be cut down. Also, their screening partners namely, Tennis TV and WTA TV will join hands.

When compared to the men’s game, WTA generates less viewership, and women’s game tickets are not purchased as much as the men’s. Thus, it leads to less generation of revenue. If the unification happens, it might be in favor of the women’s game as they might get paid more than what they did earlier.

Earlier on Wednesday, Swiss star Stan Wawrinka also addressed the idea of a unified tennis tour. “Trying to find something to put WTA and ATP together. Trying to find a way that how we can help each other,” Stan Wawrinka told Chris Evert on Instagram LIVE.

Also, Federer’s arch-rival Rafael Nadal gave him a thumbs up. “Hey, Roger Federer as you know per our discussions I completely agree that it would be great to get out of this world crisis with the union of men’s and women’s tennis in one only organization,” Rafa tweeted.
