The World No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas recently revealed what exactly happened to him during the Italian Open 2020. The Greek player lost to Jannik Sinner in the second round of the tournament only. He couldn’t make it to Round 3 even in the doubles category along with partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi.

After a quick and sudden exit from the Italian Open 2020, the 22-year-old showed some exceptional gameplay at the German Open 2020. He is currently in the finals of the tournament and is due to face Andrey Rublev. It is because of this reason that Tsitsipas will be arriving late at the French Open 2020 which begins on 27th September.

“Right now I am not thinking of what will happen next week. I want to enjoy the moment, to play good tennis,” said Tsitsipas.

At the French Open 2020, he will face Jaume Munar in Round 1. His match is on 28th September which means he will be getting any sort of break.
“I am focused on what is going on here in Hamburg and I feel great. So I am not worried about anything,” said a cheerful Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas said that he was not feeling comfortable during the tournament due to his father’s absence.
“I felt a little bit lost in Rome without my father,” said Tsitsipas.

The 22-year-old clearly seemed out of touch at the Italian Open 2020. He was not able to time his shots, not able to generate the desired speed, and did too many unforced errors. He highlighted that he would not be able to forget that week, definitely because of his poor performance.
“That week will remain unforgettable and I think that now I will appreciate it even more than I have my dad next to me. I will pay a lot of respect to what he has been doing all these years,” said the painful Greek.
Consistency is the one thing that the Greek player needs to work on. Although he is quite young, he hasn’t played a final of any Grand Slam so far. His best came in the Australian Open 2020 where he managed to reach the semi-finals.

With his current form and positive mindset, fans believe that he could be a favorite for the upcoming Ronald Garros. As his father is back in the stands, Tsitsipas will surely be aiming for his maiden Grand Slam title.
