Novak Djokovic to Continue ‘The Self Mastery Project’ With Jay Shetty

World Number one Novak Djokovic has recently been engaging in interesting LIVE sessions with tennis players and a few others. And now, he will be going LIVE with the former monk and motivational speaker, Jay Shetty.

Djokovic and Shetty will be live on Friday, at 8.30 pm CET. “I’m grateful to have an opportunity to speak with Jay again. He is a special soul that cares deeply about people. Tune in,” Novak tweeted.

The live session with Jay Shetty is part of his ‘The Self Mastery Project’.  The Serbian recently initiated it on Instagram to raise awareness on the topic of mental and physical health issues. High on his agenda is discussing it with experts.  

Dutch extreme athlete, Wim Hof, and the founder of Cymbiotika, Chervin Jafarieh, were previously part of it. Amongst the tennis professionals, Novak has been live with Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Fabio Fognini, and Maria Sharapova up until now.

Novak Djokovic and Jay Shetty’s previous meeting

Previously, Jay Shetty had interviewed Djokovic in February 2019 on the ‘On Purpose Podcast’, wherein Shetty flew to Monte-Carlo from the US to meet the Serbian legend.

During their previous meeting, they discussed how sports have evolved in modern times to become money-oriented. “Today sport became a business industry too much in my opinion, in certain sports, and so it’s very important to keep intact the essence of why you started playing the sport,” Novak said.

They also talked about the ‘greatest comebacks in the history of tennis’ which was pulled off by Novak Djokovic. In 2017, he was on the brink of giving up his career due to his elbow issues.

Later, in the year 2018, after defeating Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of Wimbledon, the Serbian ace marked his resurgence on the ATP Tour. Novak went on to win three Majors in a row after that and even reclaimed the World Number one title, extending his Majors match-winning streak to 26.
