Roger Federer hints at returning to action in social media post

The twenty-time Grand Slam champion has shared a video collage on Instagram and Twitter, with a message which answers his doubters as emphatically as he slayed his opponents on the court.
Along with the post, which has snatches from some of his best moments in tennis, Federer left a short, but meaningful message, saying, “Excited for what’s to come”.

The video is part of the ATP’s new campaign to promote tennis stars on the men’s circuit.
Federer video part of brand new ATP campaign
Named ‘This is Tennis’, the global campaign aims at boosting players’ profiles, encourages larger representation in tournaments and makes for a better fan experience.
Federer apart, the governing body of men’s tennis has also released videos of a raft of other stars, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Sending out a press release, the ATP said the objective behind its campaign is to promote the sport more extensively and build an emotional connect with fans.
On the career front, Federer skipped a large part of the 2020 season because of surgery on a troublesome knee and the extensive recovery process thereafter.

However, he has hinted that he is far from done and is willing to do the hard yards to return to action.
The Australian Open was the only event that Federer played this calendar but it didn’t end well for him as he lost to Novak Djokovic in the semifinal.
As he missed the bulk of the action this season through an injury, Federer dropped down the rankings and ended the season at Number 5.

However, the new season will provide an opportunity for the ‘Swiss Master’ to gain on his rivals in the rankings and add to his titles.
With the Australian Open delayed next year, Federer will have more time to work on his fitness and return for the year’s first Major.
