The stage was set for Valentine Vacherot to script yet another fairytale ending. Coming to the quarter-finals of the Rolex Paris Masters, Vacherot was brimming with confidence. And why not? After all, he was on a dream run, winning the last 10 of his ATP Masters 1000 matches. In one of the most shocking turns of events, Vacherot won the Shanghai finals. With it, he became the lowest-ranked player to have ever won an ATP 1000 Masters title. And he continued his dream run in Paris, too.

The Monegasque breezed through the initial rounds to storm into the quarter-finals. And looking at how the 26-year-old was dominating his opponents, many anticipated that a semi-final berth was there for the taking. However, on the flip side stood Felix Auger-Aliassime. Interestingly, Auger-Aliassime was already quite familiar with Vacherot. As per the Canadian star, the duo practiced together previously. Now, coming to the match, Aliassime knew exactly what he was going to face. 

And thus, the Canadian star came fully prepared and walked away with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory, ending the 10-match streak of Vacherot. Quite certainly, the 25-year-old was swarmed with questions, trying to decipher the strategy with which he was able to see off Vacherot. Speaking about his experience, Auger-Aliassime stated that initially, it was quite a challenge. He said, “Today, but it was an interesting challenge, you know coming on the court today Playing a player that I knew from practice, but never played in a match and he’s so confident You’re like you’re kind of scared to be honest.” Thankfully, the nerves soon settled in and Aliassime found his footing.

Moving on, Auger-Aliassime will now be facing or Kazakh Alexander Bublik in the semis. Meanwhile, as the Canadian is currently basking in glory, Vacherot must not be depressed. After all, he has surpassed the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, in a recent feat.

Valentin Vacherot, defeating the Briton in the Paris Masters, already has quite a few feathers to his hat. But alongside all of it, he has just surpassed the Swiss Maestro by achieving a new feat. Vacherot won over Cameron Norrie in an impeccable win and secured his ticket to the quarter-finals. But with that, he broke a key Masters 1000 record that was held by none other than Roger Federer.

From the 2025 Shanghai Masters, the 26-year-old has been stunning the crowd. With the win in Shanghai, he not only made sure to grab the wildcard entry to the Paris Masters but also defeated Novak Djokovic. But this time, he has achieved yet another feat. At the moment, Carlos Alcaraz has a winning percentage of 77.8 in the Masters 1000. Roger Federer had 77.9%. But shattering the record, Vacherot now stands at 78.9%.

At the moment, only Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, with 82% and 81.5% respectively, stand on a higher ground than Valentin Vacherot. The way Vacherot has been adding wins to his resume, fans would now just eagerly wait to witness the rise of the Monegasque.
