A tennis fan, who also happens to be a ‘social media freelancer’, has posted some cryptic, loved-up messages, hinting that the couple may have already moved back together or is in the process of doing so.

Earlier, in an Instagram story, the couple had announced their break-up, taking followers and fans by shock.

Monfils and Svitolina had been together since 2019, giving their fans serious couple goals with their mushy posts.

However, it wasn’t clear from their post if it was a break-up or a temporary phase of conscious uncoupling.

“Gael Monfils and I decided to take a break in our relationship. The decision was incredibly difficult because we still have love for each other,” the couple posted.

They said they won’t be commenting anymore, asking everyone to respect their “privacy”.

While speculations started to abound on what could have led the couple to split, one likely reason that was put forward was the Frenchman’s diminishing returns on court in the recent past.

Going into the Australian Open on a five-match losing streak, Monfils made an opening-round exit after losing to rising Finnish star Emil Ruusuvuori in five sets.

His former girlfriend fell at the fourth round of the Australian Open but followed up with a quarter-final appearance in Qatar.

Svitolina has also reached the last-eight of the ongoing Miami Open and will play top-ranked Ashleigh Barty for a place in the semis on Thursday.
