The exit of Dominic Thiem from the French Open in the first round was a colossal upset. Fans and pundits were left stunned as the current world No. 4 was outplayed by the relentless P. Andújar.

Former World No. 1 Mats Wilander felt the same shock that the fans felt as he watched Thiem lose his game. In addition, he felt Dominic lacked the motivation to win the French Open.

During the post-match analysis of the game in Eurosport, Mats Wilander expressed his shock and disappointment of seeing Thiem being knocked out in the first round. He said- ”Yes, this was a big surprise. I actually predicted him to get all the way to the finals.”

However, when you analyze the match, it was very clear that Thiem was nowhere near his best.

However, for that to happen, Mats Wilander asks Dominic Thiem to take a little bit of a break. Matt said- “I’m sure he is going to be back, but it does feel like he might need to take a little bit of a break at this moment.”
