This is that time of the year when almost all Tennis tournaments have concluded. The athletes are also currently enjoying an off-schedule time, each one of them is using the period either to prepare for the upcoming season or to relax on a vacation. While the year-end allowed players to have some time off their busy tour schedules, the tennis world is also echoing with the sounds of wedding bells.

After a tough season that finally rewarded all the ATP and WTA stars with their year-end rankings, the current tennis headlines are regularly blinking with the notifications of players getting married one after the other. Bringing all the joyous memories collaged in a single frame, here are the top four tennis stories that recently captivated the attention of fans.

Shelby Rogers

As the wedding bells started ringing for players, tennis star Shelby Rogers started a new part of her life. She married John Slavik, who has been her sweetheart for more than three years. The 31-year-old graced the occasion as she wore a beautiful white dress with a big V-shape on the front which was designed by Madeline Gardner. The beautiful couple tied the knot at a nice place near the water in her hometown of Mount Pleasant, S.C. Rogers used social media to give out important updates and to express her heartfelt thoughts.

“Thank you to everyone that helped make our day so special. We are overcome with gratitude, love, joy, and excitement,” she wrote, in her Instagram post caption. The story of Rogers and Slavik trails back to 2020 when some friends set them up on a date while they did not know each other before. As they started dating since then, Slavik asked her to marry him at a park in Charleston, which the tennis star referred to as, “probably the most perfect moment of my life so far.” Rogers also expressed her excitement about the whole story and said Slavik did a great job.

Tennys Sandgren

Among the tennis stars who recently got married, American tennis ace Tennys Sandgren also reserved his spot in the list. He tied the knot with his girlfriend, Christianna Burkee in a heartfelt ceremony that graced the audience of Nashville, Tennessee, on December 2. Sandgren, who is known for his remarkable presence on the court as a two-time Australian Open quarterfinalist, has the feat of attaining a career-high ranking of World No. 41 in January 2019.

The love story between Tennys Sandgren and his girlfriend began with a completely unexpected twist. They met in December 2021 after Burkee got a text that suggested Sandgren which led to a date that they went on, right on the next day. As a result of the romantic events that started two years back, the tennis star surprised the community as well as the fans as he shared his wedding pictures on Instagram. Expressing his happiness in the post caption, he wrote, “My heart is so unbelievably full today. Truly blessed beyond words.” While they came together by chance and became partners for life, the recent celebration marked a new beginning in their lives.

James Duckworth

Along with other players who turned their relationships into a lifelong connection, Australian Davis Cup representative James Duckworth also exchanged vows with his partner Madi in a beautiful ceremony that was held in Queensland.
