Caroline Wozniacki Vs Serena Williams
Earlier, Wozniacki announced about playing her final match against her rival Williams on her home soil of Denmark in Copenhagen. They were supposed to put up their show at Royal Arena in the Danish capital.
But amid the coronavirus pandemic, Grand Slam champion Wozniacki has rescheduled their encounter and the dates are yet to be decided.
“Hi Everyone! I am sad to announce that my final match against Serena Williams has been postponed. The safety and health of everyone are most important! We will be rescheduling for a later date, and will let everyone know as soon as we have one confirmed!” Wozniacki announced on social media.
She was really excited to hang her racquets after playing against Serena and also amidst her home country people. “The endpoint of my career cannot be better than at home and against tennis’ greatest female player ever. It’s going to be a magnificent night I’ll never forget, I’m sure.” the Dane once mentioned.
Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki have locked horns against each other 11 times on the professional tour. The American legend Williams outnumbers Wozniacki by 10 matches in their head to head record.
The Dane’s sole victory came at the quarterfinals of Miami Open 2012. The pair last played each other at WTA Championships 2014.
