Tennis fans have something exciting to look forward to since Bianca Andreescu recently announced that she would make her comeback, most probably at the Australian Open 2021. The World No. 7 Andreescu last played a match in 2019 at the WTA Finals against Karolina Pliskova. She could not play the whole match due to a knee injury, which also forced her to skip the whole of the 2020 tennis season. Recently, she confirmed her presence in 2021 by sharing a message.

“I’m doing really well. The virus pushed me back, and some little personal things here and there, but right now I’m good, I’m training hard…I’m really looking forward to 2021,” announced a cheerful Andreescu.

Andreescu also spoke about how there were factors such as the coronavirus, apart from the knee injury, that became an obstacle for her. However, she believes that she is well enough and can return in 2021.

Fans were looking for Andreescu’s return since she has a spark in her gameplay. With her win over Williams at the US Open 2019, she became the first teenager to win a Grand Slam since 2006. Recently, Iga Swiatek also won the French Open 2020 at the age of 19 as well. The younger generation is definitely giving a tough fight to the established players, especially in the WTA tournaments. Fans will hope that she returns soon and exhibits her exceptional skills on the court once again.
