Throughout her tennis career, Maria Sharapova played against many amazing players. However, there are also a lot of players she hasn’t competed with. This is why she was asked to pick a few players with whom she’d want to play a tennis match.

In response to this, she said,

“I will start with Steffi Graf… I enjoyed watching her because she was so elegant and she made it look easy. That was hard for me because I was talented but I was tall and I was lanky and I wasn’t a good mover. When she moved, she was fluid and she looked really beautiful doing it.”

Maria Sharapova was not able to play with players like Steffi Graf and John McEnroe. However, she did get to compete with several other amazing players and she was able to beat a lot of them.

The Russian was one of the best players in the world as she won 5 Grand Slam titles, 36 titles and seized the World No. 1 ranking. After such incredible achievements, in 2020, she suddenly decided to leave the sport. Her biggest reason for this was a shoulder issue that had been bothering her for quite a long time.
