WATCH – When David Letterman Touched Serena Williams’ Abs

Former World Number one Serena Williams made another appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in the year 2014. The fittest athlete of all times was wearing a black crop top, and her well-defined abs were visible.

Her fit physique eventually persuaded  Letterman to touch Williams’ abs.

David Letterman and Serena Williams also played tennis on a court constructed outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York. 

Also, after winning her Wimbledon title in 2009, Serena Williams was present on Letterman’s show. That year, she defeated her sister Venus Williams in the finals 7–6(7–3), 6-2. The Williams sisters were also victorious on the doubles court and lifted up the Wimbledon title.

Letterman asked her whether the grunting opponent causes a disturbance to the quiet player. Since during the doubles match, both sisters were grunting to their fullest and Letterman was curious to know about the situation of their opponents.

“I often wonder that,” she said. “I’m thinking like we were playing just recently in the finals and Venus and I were grunting really loud in the doubles and the other girls weren’t doing anything. And after the point, I was thinking, ‘Wow, that was pretty loud. Was that distracting for them?”

Williams further added about looking up to Monica Seles while growing up and who indeed she had a loud grunt. “She’s like the first person that I know that really used to grunt really loud and really hard, so that’s kind of who I modeled my grunt after. Yeah, because you have to have role models when it comes to grunting.”

The American Serena also grunts while doing different activities. “Like if I play golf, I grunt. If I’m playing football and I kick the ball, I grunt.”
