Former World Number one Angelique Kerber is presently home-quarantined in her residence in Poland. She was recovering from the injury and preparing to step back on the circuit. The German pride was all set to make her come back in her home tournament of Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2020, but coronavirus pandemic has annulled everything.
She talked about the lessons one could learn from the current global crisis. “I actually think one can learn from such crises. Hopefully, we will all learn to be more grateful for things. We otherwise don’t know how to appreciate properly,” she said.
“I also wish people will fully realize in this crisis that we are stronger together than everybody. On their own and that we will act accordingly in the future too,” Angelique Kerber told Porsche.

Kerber further talked about her friends from WTA Tour and she is keeping in touch with them during these days. She regularly texts Danish player Caroline Wozniacki.
“I talk to good friends on the tour. We tell each other about what we get up to the whole day. One is Caroline Wozniacki. Though she’s retired, she’s now longing to play her farewell match against Serena Williams, which also had to be postponed due to corona,” she added.

“It’s the little things I miss, the ones that were the norm up until recently but are now no longer possible. I miss my normal daily routine and would like to go for a coffee with friends again. But these days, my only trips outside in the fresh air are to go shopping in the supermarket, with a face mask and protective gloves,” she continued.
Angelique Kerber is trying to keep herself motivated and following a proper routine during the unexpected break. She is working out to keep herself fit, but unfortunately, the three-time Grand Slam champion hasn’t touched a racquet over the past few weeks.
