

Nick Kyrgios has been pretty vocal about the coronavirus and the resumption of tennis. On Twitter, he has called out many players and organizations for not being serious about the pandemic and forcefully starting the season.

Kyrgios is an avid basketball fan. He follows the NBA passionately and is a Celtics fan. He does play basketball regularly between his tennis routine. So in a video chat with Basketball Forever, Kyrgios expressed all his emotions around basketball and the NBA. He spoke about various NBA players and the resuming NBA season. Nick liked the arrangement the NBA is making to make it safer when the season resumes and players travel around the US. However, his opinions differed for the tennis season resumption.

Kyrgios still isn’t comfortable with playing tennis now given the pandemic. He has been vocal against the ATP, USTA, and Novak Djokovic.
“From a tennis standpoint, it is just too hard. We have so many international players coming from all around the world. It’s just too risky, you can’t guarantee us that no one will get sick.” said Kyrgios.
“With the new cases in the United States, it’s pretty hectic. They are forcing a bit too much,” he added

He is also against the happening of the US Open. And so he again reminded everybody that the virus is not a joke and it should be taken seriously. He even went on to the ATP as well as the USTA ‘selfish’. People have called him out for attacking players and organizations.
“This is not a joke. I feel like the tennis world is not taking it seriously. People say that I’m attacking the other players on twitter, but I just think that people are not taking it seriously” Nick said.

“I’m not sure if a global sport like tennis is at the right time to play,” he added.
Nick Kyrgios is currently in Australia. He has opposed the return of tennis so it will be interesting to see how and when the Aussie star makes a return on tour.
