Despite a shocking loss in third round of the Australian Open 2020, Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic showed some relief for her fellow countryman, Roger Federer, qualifying for the fourth round.

Federer was involved in a thriller of a match against John Millman. Going down to tie breaker in the final set, the match made a great sight for the neutrals. Federer eventually managed to win the match 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
Belinda said that although she could not watch the match, she was happy for Federer, who will face Marton Fucsovics in the fourth round.

“No, actually I fell asleep. He won the third set, but then it was the first thing in the morning I watched, and I was, like, Wow. Then I saw that he was 8-4 down in the tiebreak, so I was so happy he won, yeah,” she said after the match.

Disappointing for Belinda Bencic

Bencic’s exit in the third round follows Serena Williams’ upset on Friday.

While bowing out in the third round would be disappointing for World No.6 Bencic, the manner of the defeat would make it even more disheartening for her.
