The Briton made a lasting impression during The Wimbledon Championships earlier this year. She reached the fourth round of the tournament, where she faced Ajla Tomljanovic. However, an injury during the match forced her to withdraw from the grass court Grand Slam.
After easing her way through the qualifying rounds, Raducanu entered the main draw of the US Open for the first time in her career. She defeated Stefanie Vogele and Zhang Shuai in her first two matches before facing Sorribes Tormo in the third round today.

Despite an arduous second game in the first set, Raducanu eased her way to clinching the first set. Although Tormo showed some resistance, the British teenager won the first set 6-0, handing her Spanish opponent a bagel.
During the second set, Raducanu kept the momentum going, barely giving Tormo any time to mount some sort of comeback. She sealed the second set 6-1, and a spot in the fourth round of the final Grand Slam of the year.
