In a recent open letter, Nemanja Matic talked about the people criticizing Novak Djokovic. He said that people are criticizing him even though according to the laws of the state, everything in the event was in order. He went all to call them ‘mice’ and said,

“The mice have come out of their holes giving themselves the right to criticize the world number one, both in terms of tennis, but also in his attitude toward all the people in the world. However, I’m not worried. Very soon the cat (read, Nole) will be on the court and the mice back in the hole.”

Nemanja Matic hasn’t been the only person who has defended Novak from the criticism. Novak’s parents defended him and so did Novak’s coach. He said that people were just waiting to criticize him when he makes a wrong move.

Clearly, there is an argument here about whether Novak was right or not. But that is not going to be the most important thing in people’s minds. They will be hoping that the players infected will recover soon so that they can play the ATP Tour when it returns in August. And hopefully, that is exactly what happens.
