

Grigor Dimitrov and his team have responded to the allegations by Novak Djokovic’s father Srdjan Djokovic. Dimitrov’s manager has lashed out at the organizers and said that Dimitrov followed all the rules and regulations on the tour.

Georgi Stoimenov defended his client against the accusation by Djokovic’s father. Djokovic Sr had blamed Dimitrov for bringing the coronavirus to the Adria Tour. He also said that Dimitrov led the Djokovic name down and caused huge trouble to Serbia, Croatia, and Djokovic’s family.

“Regarding what Srdjan Djokovic said to Croatian television, I want to inform you about the following. Grigor landed directly in Belgrade after three months of complete isolation. Neither in Belgrade nor later in Zadar he was offered or required by him to test for coronavirus” Stoimenov clarified on tenniskafe.com.

Stoimenov clearly explained Dimitrov’s travel plans. He also said that Dimitrov was in isolation for 3 months before coming to Serbia. But while crossing the border to Serbia and Croatia Dimitrov didn’t require any test.

Stoimenov in turn blamed the organizers of the Adria Tour for the lapses in rules and precautions. He said that Dimitrov followed every rule and regulation enforced by the organizers as well as the ones in Serbia and Croatia.
“The event organizers are the ones responsible for the safe running of the event and creating rules to follow. Grigor strictly respected all the rules imposed by the organizers of the tournament and existing laws and regulations in the crossing of the border between Bulgaria, Serbia, and Croatia.”

Djokovic from the start of the tour always said that they maintained and followed the rules and regulations by the government. But it was seen that they had huge lapses in standard precautions and protocols. Huge crowds, no masks, no social distancing, and players were into high fives and hugs.
