December has always been a fruitful year for Animal Crossing: New Horizons community. The onset of the month brings with itself a load of magnificent changes as the players gear up for Christmas.

The previous titles in the franchise, though not elaborate, have seen a load of villagers decorate their islands with vivid lights and other decorations during this festive season.

Thanksgiving, at the end of November, will surely bring in more such elaborate decorations. The players have already done away with Halloween decorations and are ready to put aside their pumpkin-themed decorations to make way for Christmas.

Players have substituted pumpkins with cedar trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Snow doesn’t make its way to the title until December 10, as has been the case with all titles. However, that hasn’t stopped the players from making Christmas celebrations in their islands.

Some villagers have made the most of the custom designs and have installed custom paths throughout their island. These paths have been lined up with decorative bulbs. Moreover, the players have also used custom designs to create holiday-themed clothing to fit in even before December begins on the calendar.

In addition, a range of updates is coming at the end of this year, which will supplement these Christmas decorations. The Harvest Festival (Thanksgiving) event and Toy Day (Christmas) are coming in November.

The previous titles in the franchise were not as grandiose with their festive celebrations. Even though New Leaf allowed the villagers to dress up as Santa to distribute gifts to other villagers, it didn’t look as surreal.

New Horizons has been rather different from the previous titles, and the players expect the celebration to be different too.

Some players have already made use of time travel in the game to acquire Christmas themed decorative items. However, the other players will get the same experience over the next month and a half as new updates roll out and Christmas comes closer.
