“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, FIFA 20, and Grand Theft Auto V all performed strongly, as well, filling out the top four spots on both the US and EU lists. Gorn and Beat Saber took the top spot for PS VR in US / Canada and EU, respectively, while Call of Duty: Warzone topped both regions’ free-to-play charts for June.”

In terms of free-to-play games, Warzone topped the charts with Fortnite and Apex Legends right behind.

Players review

The action-adventure game opened to mixed reviews from players. The game was never criticized for its gameplay elements or overall experience. However, players did have things to complain about.

To start with, many players disliked the storyline. The first installment was loved by all and moreover, the lead characters of the game grew into everyone’s heart.

Joel and Ellie were more than in-game characters to many. Naughty Dogs worked so well on the character arc that players dwelled into the game.

The Last of Us II had a very disturbing first half for some. Joel, one of the lead characters from the first game, was brutally killed by the antagonist Abby.

Furthermore, the trailer was also slashed for being misleading. One of the scenes from the trailer showed Joel grabbing Ellie whereas, in the real game, that particular character turned out to be Ellie’s friend Jessie.

In addition, many were of the opinion that Joel was portrayed as a careless character.

The game, although, was praised for its gameplay and visuals. Keeping aside all the obvious complaints, the game still managed to top charts. Now, that is only possible because of the game’s gem-like presence. Naughty Dogs did deliver big time with The Last of Us II.
