The Last Of Us Part 2 trailer just dropped. What looked like an emotional roller coaster ride in the first glimpse, definitely had some surprises waiting for us. The entire background music of the trailer suggested something awful is about to happen. Likewise, the video gave us a firm grasp of what to expect. 

“I know you wish things were different.” Looking at the post-apocalyptic surroundings, we can only wish they survive.

The fact is, we are exceedingly afraid that Ellie might not make it. The trailer was emotionally taxing to make sense of. Ellie has grown up from the first part, and most of the game will revolve around her revenge story. 

The Last Of Us Part 2 story changed due to leaks?

Naughty Dog dropped the trailer just a few weeks after leaked footage almost ruined the game. Even though the game’s trailer dropped swiftly after parts of the game went viral, we can expect a change in the plot. Naughty Dog and Sony did assure fans that the leak was not from an internal source and traced it back to a hacker.

Even then, questions about the plot remain.

The storyline may not get a considerable twist, especially to counter the leaked portions. What was ruined because of the leak might have a shift. However, the game-makers will not tamper with the major portions of the storyline, as that would ruin the game altogether. Ellie’s coming of age and surviving alone with tough choices will hold the crux of the emotional aspect of the game.

The developers won’t let it get ruined

Game director Neil Druckmann mentioned in an interview that the game would be about hate. The journey will have several elements that teach us some lessons. 

While the first game gave us a more loving relationship to focus on, this one will not. The sequel will target the preferable emotional soft spots that open up during the game. The game might just end up with a horrifying twist if its much rumored plot twist is true.

These things make the game what they are. It is safe to assume that despite leaks, The Last Of Us Part 2 will be an immense success.
