When Keelan Harvick stepped into the racing shoes of his champion father, Kevin Harvick, the next chapter of their lives became inevitable. Five years after her son, DeLana Harvick gave birth to her mirror image, Piper. The pitter-patter of the tiniest member of their clan enlivened their hectic sporting schedules.

The toddler turned out to be no less of a force of nature than her successful mother. And the latest image shared on DeLana Harvick’s social media page served as a delightful reminder of that.

DeLana is no longer wearing the fire suit in her family

Kevin Harvick had an inspiring racing career after his Cup debut in 2001. Taking the place of the Intimidator was no small feat, and the pressure on his rookie shoulders could not be imagined. But he had the staunchest support system in his racing and life partner DeLana. Harvick’s wife was an inimitable part of his line-up, administration, PR, and fanbase. And with their young son Keelan, added another racer’s management and upbringing to her daily schedule. 

Naturally, it became the responsibility of the only non-racer in her life to entertain them with her adorable antics. The 5-year-old is often seen cheering from the bleachers for her father’s #4 racecar. And she takes safety measures as responsibly as her mom. In Harvick’s final season before retirement, Piper came to support one of her father’s races and she truly meant business. Walking hand in hand with her superstar dad, she channeled her inner DeLana and wore a firesuit.

Matching her mother’s choice of apparel is not the only way she took after DeLana Harvick. Just like her mom, Piper wanted to make sure her father never forgot his helmet before driving at breakneck speeds. The little protector carried it with her in a recent race. When DeLana tried to capture the moment, her daughter had a cheeky reaction ready for her. And the racing fandom could not help marveling at this tiny wonder.

Kevin Harvick’s fandom conflicted between the origins of his 5-year-old daughter’s style

The picture posted by DeLana Harvick is captioned, “Sassiest helmet carrier in all the land [Heart emoji] #bruddy&sass”. Amusingly, she often addressed Piper as ‘Sass’ on her social media pages, depicting the stance as not an unusual occurrence. Harvick’s fandom was clearly on board as they exclaimed with approval at the caption.

“Oh my. The sass is real [Laughter emojis]. Gotta love her”

“Showing off her sassafras [Laughter emoji]  love it”

Sparing a thought for the budding racer, this commentator knew who truly kept Keelan Harvick in check.

“I bet she keeps big brother in line.”

Renowned for his sarcastic sense of humor, Kevin Harvick’s fans could see where the pose originated. But others knew the apple did not fall far from DeLana’s tree.
