The developers at the Polish gaming studio CD Projekt RED have their work cut for them with their latest title in Cyberpunk 2077. Following a disastrous launch last year, the studio has had to face countless problems with it. This includes fixes for many of the game’s issues, stolen files and many more. Currently, they are working at improving the game even though it might take a long time before it becomes quite good again. However, these fans can enjoy something else from the publishers with their highly acclaimed title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The action-RPG game released six years ago. Since then, the game has gained a lot of critical and commercial acclaim with many calling it to be one of the best games of the decade. The developers have also released tons of DLCs since its release which has also gained a lot of fanfare. With the arrival of the next generation consoles from Xbox and PlayStation, the game will receive a new DLC inspired by the Netflix Show based on the franchise.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next gen-update to release later this year

Last year, CD Projekt RED announced a next-generation upgrade for the new consoles. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have a free upgrade for any player who owns the game. So, players who own the copy on PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X|S can enjoy the visually stunning environment of the Continent. With a vast storyline involving some of the most amazing characters from the genre, the experience will be splendid for next-generation console players from Xbox and PlayStation.

New DLC inspired by the Netflix show

The developers have also announced a new DLC that will arrive with the next-gen update. It will be available on all versions of the game including Xbox One, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch. The DLC will include items inspired by the Netflix show based on the series. The first season of the show arrived in 2019 and it stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Recently, at WitcherCon, fans received a new trailer showcasing the second season which will release in December this year.

Fans of the franchise are really excited about the prospects of new content involving both the game and the Netflix show. With the update and the show set to arrive around the same time, it seems like the fanatics of the series will have a busy winter holidays this year.
