The Amazing Record Set By Rafael Nadal

Winning a lot of matches consecutively is hard but what’s even harder is winning consecutive sets. To win consecutive sets, a player must be extremely dominating and Rafael Nadal was this player during the years of 2017 and 2018.

John McEnroe held the record for the most consecutive sets on the single surface for a long time. He won 49 consecutive sets on the carpet. Rafael Nadal broke this record by winning his 50th set against Diego Schwartzman in the round of 16 at the 2018 Madrid Open.

Rafael Nadal proved to the world once again why he was the ‘King Of Clay’. This record that he set might be one that will not be broken. It will take someone just as dominating on a single surface to beat this record. So far, we have not yet seen such a player.

The way Rafa is playing right now, we can expect him to set some more records on clay. Unfortunately, he will have to wait to do that as the ATP tour has been suspended. When the clay swing starts on the revised ATP schedule we can expect some Rafa to set some more records.
