Tennis ace Roger Federer has inspired millions of fans from around the world. Besides the fans, there have been a number of players who have idolized the Swiss tennis sensation. Many youngsters have been encouraged to pick up a tennis racquet after seeing the heroics showcased by the 39-year-old player.

Recently, another player on Tour revealed his admiration for Roger Federer. Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev was in awe of the quality the veteran still manages to produce. The tennis that Federer has displayed remains unparalleled to any other player on Tour.

While praising the Swiss star, Karatsev stated, “I like Agassi, Sampras. When they left, I watched Federer. The game that he shows, I think, cannot be compared with anything… It’s not that he remains an idol. But I would like to play with him. I have looked at him since childhood, as he performed. So I’m interested in playing with him myself.”

Aslan Karatsev desires to play against Roger Federer in the future

The Russian talent wishes to play against his idol someday. He continues to remain amazed by the consistency in Roger’s game. After all these years, Federer has still maintained his form, even as he closes in on being 40 years of age.

Karatsev competed in the Australian Open and made headlines when he reached the semifinal of a Grand Slam event for the first time. After that, he won the Dubai Tennis Championships. He recently beat Novak Djokovic in a thriller at the Serbia Open. 

Meanwhile, Federer began his season in Doha after being on the sidelines for over a year. He is practising hard and is expected to feature at the Geneva Open this month.
