It’s only been just over a month since Kai Trump shared about the surgery she had. While the setback threatened to slow her down, she is already eyeing a quick recovery. The rising golf star surprised followers with a determined return to action. Notably, it drew an immediate but rather quiet show of support from her mother, Vanessa Trump.

Vanessa Trump reposted Kai Trump’s Instagram post to her story. No additional words, no get well soon or keep going, just a quiet show of support. The original post wasn’t at all quiet, though, as Kai Trump was heading back to gym after her health setback.
“Hi everyone, so I just had wrist surgery seven days ago, like on the dot seven days ago. So I’ve not done anything at all in the past week and I feel very lazy right now. So I’m going to work out with an arm that just had surgery. Let’s go. Okay, put it in this arm. Let’s go. Let’s go,” she said in the Instagram post.

Kai Trump initially underwent left wrist surgery on January 8, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute by Dr. Thomas Graham, Chief of Jefferson Orthopedics. The procedure addressed injuries to the stabilizing tissues of her ECU tendon and damage to her triangular fibrocartilage complex. It was caused by golf-related strain. She anticipated months of rehab to return to pain-free golf.
Now, she says that she underwent surgery seven days ago. Although she didn’t confirm it, this could mean that she underwent a second surgery for her wrist issues.
As it’s been 7 days, and she aims to start fresh by regaining her strength, her mother, Vanessa Trump, shows quiet support. While she didn’t use any words in her story, she did like Kai Trump’s post about the update. And it’s not the first time; she has been there to show her daughter support, including when Kai’s LPGA debut didn’t go as planned.
President Donald Trump’s granddaughter made her LPGA debut at the 2025 The ANNIKA. She received a sponsor invitation to play in the event alongside elites like Nelly Korda, Austin Kim, Charley Hull, Rose Zhang, and others. However, she wasn’t able to shine at the $3.25 million event. In fact, with rounds of 83-75, she finished 18-over par, last in the field.
Yet, Vanessa Trump showed her support. She shared an Instagram post and wrote, “Congratulations on your first LPGA tournament! Watching you give it your all was inspiring. This is just the beginning! I’m very proud of you Kai!”
She showed support right before the first tee. Vanessa Trump shared multiple Instagram posts and stories to congratulate Kai Trump and express how proud she was. While she was very vocal about her support for Kai Trump during her LPGA debut, she showed quiet support this time after her health update. And she is known to show her support quietly.
Vanessa Trump shows quiet support for a Tiger Woods project
On February 11, 2026, Tiger Woods celebrated the 20th anniversary of TGR Learning Labs in Anaheim. The 82x PGA Tour winner opened the flagship 35,000-square-foot TGR Learning Lab in Anaheim, California, on February 10, 2006. It is next to the H.G. “Dad” Miller Golf Course, where he practiced as a teen.
The lab, part of his TGR Foundation, founded in 1996, provides free hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) education, health guidance, college readiness, and career exploration for grades 5-12 students from under-resourced communities. It has served over 217,000 students nationwide, with Woods calling the 2006 opening the best day of his career.
“I’m proud of our students and grateful to everyone who has supported them over the last 20 years,” Woods wrote in a caption to his Instagram post about the lab’s 20th anniversary.
The official Instagram handle of TGR Learning Labs in Anaheim also shared about it and Vanessa Trump liked the post.
Vanessa Trump is now showing the same quiet support she once showed Woods. Be it just a like or a simple comment, she continues to stand firmly beside Kai Trump, as she navigates her medical condition and eyes a comeback.
