Rory McIlroy is currently playing in the men’s golf competition at Tokyo Olympics 2020 and he made an emphatic comeback after round two at the Kasumigaseki Country Club. McIlroy shot 66 to remain five-under for the day and finished with a score of-7 for the event. He will go into the weekend with ample confidence and momentum on his side.

Meanwhile, players, especially golfers, are restricted from attending other Olympic events. However, attending the other Olympic events was the highlight of the 2016 Olympic games for many golfers. But unfortunately, due to the COVID restrictions, the authorities are stern that players cannot attend another event in the village.

“I would love to go and see dressage,” says Rory McIlroy

However, McIlroy had already said that he is playing the Summer Olympics for the good of golf and not out of any patriotism or a lifelong dream of winning an Olympic medal.

But after a round at Kasumigaseki Country Club, the venue for the men’s golf event at Tokyo Olympics 2020, it looks like his stand might have softened.

“I never obviously competed in an Olympic game. I watched them from a far, but being a part of something that’s completely different and bigger than me and even our sport in general, that’s a pretty cool thing,” said Rory after a fantastic round two. He is currently 7-under and tied with his countryman Shane Lowry and four shots behind the leader Xander Schaufelle.
