Biles made an impressive Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Despite her young age of 20 at the time, she won four gold medals and a bronze medal. Heading into Tokyo, she is the reigning Olympic champion in floor exercise, vault and all-around. In addition, her USA team is also the reigning Olympic champion in the team event.

While the 24-year-old heads into Tokyo high on confidence, she shares a special relationship with Owens. The 26-year-old, who plays safety for the Houston Texans, and Biles’ relationship began in March of last year.

Ahead of the Olympics, Biles spoke about the motivation Owens gives her to be the best in her sport. She said“Oh, he’s always so supportive. Even if I wake up in the morning and I’m like, ‘I’m tired, do I have to go,’ jokingly, he’s like ‘Don’t say that! You can do it, this is your dream!'”

In addition, Biles also admitted Owens being an athlete helps her stay on point with activities related to her sport. “He’s always, always so helpful and making sure I stay on top of my therapy and all of that,” said the 24-year-old. “He’s the best because he also goes through it [as an athlete], so he knows exactly how it is in the process. It’s been amazing to have him.”
