Team USA coach Gregg Popovich has an exchange with reporter

Gregg Popovich is known for his post-game dramatics in the NBA. However, he seemed to be on the right end on this one.

After a disappointing loss, Gregg Popovich called out a reporter for asking the same question about Team USA blowing teams to now losing again and again. Popovich gave a fitting reply. However, he was interrupted by the reporter, which caused an exchange between the two.

However, after the exchange, Popovich gave an extremely crisp answer and said: “When you make statements about in the past, just blowing out these other teams. Number one, you give no respect to the other teams, and i talked to you last time about the same thing. We had very close games against 4 or 5 countries in all these tournaments. So, the good teams do not get blown out. There are certain games, it might happen in the tournaments, the world championships or the Olympics where someone gets blown out, but in general nobody is blowing anybody out for the good teams. So when you make a statement like that, it is like you assume that is what is going on.”

Popovich is definitely right on all fronts. It is disrespectful to say that Team USA should blow other teams out. It may have happened in the past, but there are good teams apart from Team USA, and it is showing. Popovich did a great job to stay calm and give an apt response to the reporter’s statement.

USA blow half time lead en route loss
