Tokyo Olympics 2020: USA Announce Official Team for Olympics Fencing

With less than a week to go for the start of the highly awaited Tokyo Olympics 2020, let’s take a look at the U.S. Olympic fencing team that looks to secure podium positions yet again. Team USA will look to secure team and individual medals as well.
Team USA won four medals in Rio 2016, and they will return most of these medalists to Tokyo 2020. This U.S. Olympic fencing roster will be the largest in history, should all 24 athletes get to compete in Tokyo.
Men’s Foil Team

1.Gerek Meinhardt (Age: 30)
The youngest male fencer to represent team USA in history, he was just 18 when he qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He is currently ranked World No. 2.
2. Alex Massialas (Age: 27)
Alex is the reigning silver medalist from the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Men’s Saber Team
1.Eli Dershwitz (Age: 25)
World No. 2, won silver at the 2020 Warsaw World Cup.
2. Daryl Homer (Age: 30)
Silver medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
3. Andrew Mackiewicz (Age: 26)
Three-time Senior World Team member
4. Khalil Thompson (Age: 24)
Replacement athlete for the Team Saber event
Women’s Saber Team
1. Mariel Zagunis (Age: 36)
Two-time Olympic Champion and the first American to win a Gold in Olympic Fencing.
2. Eliza Stone (Age: 30)
World No. 6 and first-time Olympian.
3. Dagmara Wozniak (Age: 33)
Two-time Olympian and team bronze medalist at Rio 2016.
