In the shooting sport, USA tops the medal tally at Summer Olympics. During the 2012 London Olympics, USA clinched the second position in medal charts with four medals. While South Korea was on the top with six medals.

Team USA won three gold and a bronze medal. On the other hand, South Korea won three gold and two silver medals. China finished fourth with seven medals (gold-2, silver-2)

USA shooters had a medal rush in the Shotgun event

During the 2012 London Olympics, there were 15 shooting events. Team USA has always been a dominant force in the Shotgun event.

Likes of Kim Rhode and Vincent Hancock were the favorites in team USA. Notably, Rhode won her fifth gold medal in the skeet women’s event at Olympics in 2012.

Followed by Vincent, who won his second consecutive gold medal in the skeet men’s event. Kim Rhode also became the first American to compete in all three shotgun events in 2012.

Another shooter in the fray, Jamie Lynn Gray grabbed the gold medal in the 50m rifle, 3 positions women’s event. And Matthew Emmons won the fourth medal, by clinching the bronze in 50m rifle, 3 positions men’s event.
