WATCH: Luka Doncic Blocks Japan’s Yudai Baba and Stares Him Down in Slovenia’s Second Game at Tokyo Olympics 2020

Japan and Slovenia are facing off in their Olympics matchup. At half time, Slovenia leads by 12 points. Japan is coming off a loss to world no.2, Spain. On the other hand, Slovenia is coming off a dominating win against Argentina led by star boy, Luka Doncic.

Now, it is Luka yet again who is delivering for Slovenia. He has accumulated 17 points going into the 4th as they sit on a 12 point lead. In addition, Zoran Dragic has scored 22 points. However, Japan has not given up yet. Rui Hachimura is leading the game in points as he has scored 27 points.

After a 48 point performance in his first game, Luka has no plans of slowing down. He is leading the Slovenians yet again. However, he has stepped up on defence as well with 2 steals and 1 block.

During a play in the first quarter, Luka blocked a shot from Japan’s Yudia Baba and stared him down. Baba was going up for a layup when Doncic swatted it out of bounds. It was similar to LeBron James’ block against China back in 2008.

Luka Doncic has made his intent clear in these Olympics. Luka is here to win and is giving it his all to do so. Slovenia is surely a team to look out for as they as cruising to yet another win and take the top of the group. It will be interesting to see how Slovenia matches up with the big teams in the Olympics.

Can Slovenia top the group?

With a 18 point lead going into the 4th, Slovenia are in command. However, can they top their group?

If they win against Japan today, they will be on top of the group due to the point differential. However, they are to face the Spaniards in their next match.

Spain will face Argentina later today. Led by the Gasol brothers, Spain is a strong team. They defeated Japan 88-77 in their opening matchup and will look to continue their momentum against Argentina. If Spain can go through Argentina, they will face off Slovenia for the number 1 spot in the group.
