It?s not every day that you get to meet one of the greatest Olympians to ever live and the GOAT of swimming. Jordan Chiles and Grace McCallum recently had this privilege, and they had the exact same reaction any of us would have.

A tough Olympic experience?
The American gymnasts had a tough time in Tokyo from the day they landed. Two of their teammates tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be quarantined in a separate hotel. This caused a lot of anxiety within the team.?
They decided to move out of the Olympic village and stayed in a separate hotel to be on the safer side. Luckily, all of them were healthy and were fit to compete.
The Americans got another blow when they failed to top the table on Day one of the Olympic Team All-around qualifications round.

They failed to secure the top spot on day one of the Worlds or Olympic competition for the first time since 2010. They all had pretty shaky starts and were not dominating the rest of the teams, as the US women?s gymnastics team usually does.?
The final blow landed on the day of the Team All-around finals when their superstar Simone Biles had to withdraw, citing mental health issues. Despite these difficulties, a young Team USA squad without their talisman secured the silver for their country.??
The team was on a high, as many of them were first-time Olympians and they won a silver medal at their debut Olympics.?
Meeting Michael Phelps
The duo sat down for an interview live on air with TODAY. They appeared on the show to talk about their Olympics experience and their teammate?s withdrawal from the event.
They noticed Michael Phelps’ onset. The anchors thought it would be fun to introduce them to Michael Phelps.
As soon as Michael Phelps walks into the frame, Jordan Chiles lets out a high-pitched ?Oh My God?. The Olympic silver medallist was star-struck. She awkwardly shook hands with the swimmer and told him how he inspired her.?
