The Tokyo Olympics is almost coming to an end for the tennis fans. The women’s singles semifinals takes place tomorrow, along with the men’s singles quarterfinals. The tennis event has been a roller coaster ride in Tokyo, witnessing drama, upsets and thrilling matches. Tomorrow will be another blockbuster day involving Novak Djokovic, Elina Svitolina and others.
Along with the singles event, the doubles events are also on track for tomorrow’s schedule. The men’s and women’s doubles semifinals are taking place tomorrow along with the mixed doubles quarterfinals. All matches begin at 15:00 local time in Japan.

Elina Svitolina vs Marketa Vondrousova battle it out in the semifinals
Elina Svitolina recently married Gael Monfils and had to keep her honeymoon on hold due to the ongoing Olympic Games. However, her stay in Japan has extended due to her strong performances leading her up to the semifinals. The Ukrainian will be more than happy to reach the finals after her semifinals tie tomorrow.
In order to advance to the finals, Svitolina has to pass through Czech national Marketa Vondrousova. The Czechia produced the upset of the tournament after beating number two seed and home favorite, Naomi Osaka. She won against Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals, after the Spaniard left the court retired hurt.

Belinda Bencic vs Elena Rybakina
Given that the tournament’s number one and two seeds have been beaten, it is a golden opportunity for Belinda to aim for gold. Novak Djokovic vs Kei Nishikori
A blockbuster event lined up for Thursday is the men’s singles quarterfinal between Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori. The World No.1 will go up against the home favorite and World No.69 Kei Nishikori. As a result of past performances, Djokovic has the upper hand in the tie with a 16-2 win-loss record.
However, Nishikori is a former Olympic Bronze medalist having won the 2016 Rio Olympics bronze. His experience of winning an Olympic medal can add to his advantage in a way.
However, Djokovic’s form has defined him this year. The last 15 encounters have gone into the Serb’s favor, flaunting a 15-0 record against the Japanese.
