Belinda Bencic completed a great comeback over Barbora Krejcikova in her third round at the Tokyo Olympics. The Swiss national won 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 to advance into the fourth round.

After a poor start to her game, Belinda displayed her class and grit in order to win the match. She did not really dominate the game with her power, hitting only two aces. However, Belinda controlled her game and dictated the tempo of the match.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Belinda Bencic: Set 1

Barbora Krejcikova mauled Belinda in the first set. The Czech national beat her 6-1 in the first set, as she recorded six aces against the Swiss. She was better than Belinda in all aspects, as she won more points on her first and second serve. It took her only 28 minutes to finish the first set.

Belinda did try to play with a calm mind but could not force her way back into the game. She made 13 unforced errors in the first set itself, leading to her humiliating loss. Barbora was too strong in her game as she converted two of the three break points she had.

Barbora vs Bencic: Set 2

After a slow start to her third-round match, Bencic made a strong comeback in the second set. Bencic displayed a similar form of domination as Barbora did in the first set. The unforced errors were similar between the two, 12 for Bencic and 14 for Barbora.

The Swiss national did not hit an ace during her second set demolition but converted her three breakpoints. She played very well when Barbora served, as she won 18 out of 30 points on returns. As an impressive stat, Bencic won all five of her net points and edged past Barbora.

Barbora vs Bencic: Set 3

Belinda Bencic completed her comeback in some style, as she won 6-3 in the third set. Her poor start was followed by graceful play in the next two sets. She converted two of the three break points she received. Her first and second serves were poles apart, as she could not win a lot of points on her second service.

She completed the set by making 11 unforced errors; however, it was lesser than Barbora’s 13.?The Swiss will be looking for a strong finish in the latter stages of the tournament and try to finish in the top three.
