Tony Hawk’s Pro Skaters Set for 2020 Comeback

In some great news for skateboarding nuts out there, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 are making a comeback. Activision has announced the release of the remastered editions of the first two entries. The two remastered titles will release on September 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The legend himself took to Twitter to announce the good news as well.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater will be better than ever

Released in 1999 and 2000, Pro Skater 1 and 2 played a huge part in catapulting the sport’s popularity. It attracted many players from outside the skateboarding community.

Fans of the yesteryear games will be glad to know that the remastered editions will feature all original levels, characters, challenges, and tricks. Moreover, it will also improve upon the beloved feature of creating a skate park from the originals. Not only will it be more elaborate and expansive in nature, but you can also share your custom parks online. Furthermore, the two titles will now feature an online multiplayer mode along with a local multiplayer.

Another popular feature of the original titles was the music. While not all made it to the remastered editions, the majority of them did.

Popular GTA-Style Video Game About to Return?

Coming to the skaters, apart from Tony Hawk himself, the games will feature all of the original lineups. That includes names like Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, Elissa Steamer, Bob Burnquist, and Chad Muska.

Remaking a popular game is never as easy as it sounds. Developers are required to strike the perfect balance of nostalgia and originality. Not only do they need to attract new players, but they also have to keep the original fan base content.

Vicarious Visions, the studio behind the remastered editions is confident they can do exactly that. COO Simon Ebejer had some encouraging words for those eagerly awaiting the game.
