Despite so many additions to the squad, Liverpool is still looking to further strengthen & fill in the voids created after the potential departures of Borini, Balotelli and Lambert. It looks certain that these players will leave and manager Brendan Rodgers will have to boost his attacking options with a few new strikers.

5. Salomon Rondon

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Zenit St. Petersburg striker Salomon Rondon. Last season, he netted  13 goals in the Russian Premier League itself and scored a total of 24 goals from 44 appearances.

The 25-year-old is a prolific striking option; he can play both as a supporting attacker as well as a lone striker, thus giving an opportunity to the manager to shuffle with formations. He had the most number of clear cut goalscoring opportunities in Russia’s top tier last term and he’s capable of working his way into decent positions. Clearly, the Reds need a talent like him.

He has a stunning conversion rate of 22.4% which could help Rodgers solve his goal-scoring woes.  He can also play a high pressing game which was seen recently as Rondon had won possession more times in the attacking third (7) than any other player in the Copa America group stages. The Venezuelan striker could cost Liverpool around 13 million pounds.

2. Javier Hernandez

Manchester United’s Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez  is available and it looks like they’re waiting for the right offer to sell. Liverpool is linked with various strikers in the market and this one in specific looks quite tangible. The striker is currently on loan at Real Madrid after Louis van Gaal’s decision to exile the Mexican international.

The ‘super sub’ only managed 27 goals in 107 appearances at United due to a lack of game time. It is clear that the 27-year-old has no future at Old Trafford. He could cost in the range of 10-12 million pounds.

The only thing that could stop Liverpool from pursuing him is the recent injury he sustained during a game against Hondorus in which he damaged his collarbone and had to undergo a surgery.

3. Stevan Jovetic

Brendan Rodgers is considering making a £16 million fresh bid  for Manchester City’s out of favour striker Stevan Jovetic.

The arrival of Wilfried Bony from Swansea in January shifted the player down to fourth choice at the Etihad and even saw him omitted from City’s Champions League squad at the start of this year. The Montenegrin forward has played two seasons at City after a transfer worth £22 million in 2013 from Fiorentina. He has failed to make his mark on the Etihad Stadium since his joining, having only scored 11 goals in the last two campaigns.

Manuel Pellegrini is not considering him in his future plans, he is frustrated  because of less game time  he could be second player to join Reds after Milner in this window ,he can be useful as striking option as Liverpool are in search of one more with Borini ,Balotelli and Lambert set to leave soon.

2. Alexandre Lacazette

Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette has been linked again with Liverpool, with suggestions that the Reds are prepared to capitalise on a breakdown in the Frenchman’s contract negotiations.

The talented 24-year-old is yet to agree to a new contract with the Ligue 1 club. His contact with Lyon ends in 2018 but the Ligue 1 runners up are desperate to tie him down to a new deal. However, it is expected that he will hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Liverpool. Lacazette will not come cheap, and it’s believed that Lyon will demand in excess of £28 million.

He has scored 51 goals in 139 appearances for Lyon and is considered among the best European strikers presently.

1. Christian Benteke

He still remains Liverpool’s top target this window, but Aston Villa will only sell the Belgium international if the Reds trigger his £32.5 million escape clause. On the other hand, Benteke is ready to make it clear to Sherwood that he wants to move on. Brendan Rodgers is desperate to partner him with Sturridge upfront and end all his striking problems.

His goal average has been exceptional in the 12/13 season, which lifted him into the top Premier League strikers’ list. He has by far been the best Villa striker, scoring an average of almost 0.5 goals per game. He is one of the best when it comes to aerial duels and also plays a high pressing game with an untiring attitude.
