Here is a look at the best XI of this weekend’s performers in the Premier League, with Manchester United unsurprisingly featuring heavily, after their superb 4-2 win over Manchester City.

GK: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

In form when he needed to be, Thibaut Courtois made a series of great saves to keep Chelsea in a tough game away to Queens Park Rangers.

RB: Antonio Valencia (Manchester United)

A player growing into his role at right-back, Antonio Valencia had a great game in the Manchester Derby win over City at Old Trafford.

LB: Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United)

Scorer of a beauty of a free-kick, Aaron Cresswell continued his fine form for West Ham this season with another good individual display.

CB: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

A solid performance from Arsenal’s ever-reliable Laurent Koscielny as the Gunners ground out a 1-0 win away to Burnley.

CB: Steven Caulker (Queens Park Rangers)

A strong defensive display from QPR man Steven Caulker, with Rangers unluckily losing to Chelsea at the end of this battling performance.

CM: Francis Coquelin (Arsenal)

Superb in midfield for Arsenal, Francis Coquelin showed his importance to the Gunners again in this hard-working and gritty win. He made 11 interceptions which is more than any other player in a match this season.

CM: Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United)

A hugely improved player, Marouane Fellaini was superb for United again and got on the scoresheet in the win over City.

RW: Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace)

A majestic display from the Crystal Palace winger, who netted a brilliant hat-trick from out wide in the Eagles’ thumping 4-1 win over Sunderland.

LW: Ashley Young (Manchester United)

Another United player who has improved miraculously under Louis van Gaal, Ashley Young got on the scoresheet and had a great game against City.

CAM: Juan Mata (Manchester United)

Yet another United scorer who impressed throughout, Juan Mata makes it into this weekend’s best XI in an advanced midfield role.

ST: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Despite the defeat, Sergio Aguero showed his class for Manchester City with two goals to give the visitors some hope of snatching a win.
